Ship To page in checkout process does not show up
« on: February 13, 2009, 02:20:47 PM »
Hi,

When you go through the checkout process on my site http://www.protectoneself.com the "ship to and the radio button option to select the S/H amount" page does not show up.

What happens is:

Add product to cart -- choose check out -- login or create an account -- then jumps to payment page with the radio button option to select PayPal. It by-passes the ship to page and when they log into PayPal there is no S/H charge added to the price of the order.

The shipping module is set up like this:

- Shipping Based on Order Subtotal -

Status: enabled
Geo zone: all zones
Shipping rates: 10.00:6.00,25.00:8.00,50.00:10.00,100.00:12.00,200.00:15.00,20000000:20.00
Tax class: none
Sort order: 0

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for your time,

Drew

Hi Drew,

Make sure that your product definition has the following value set on the Data Tab
  Requires Shipping:  Yes

If an order contains one or more products that require shipping then the shipping page will be displayed.

cheers

For those watching this topic...

I used the import/export module to export the catalog information to a spreadsheet and checked the requires shipping values. There were still some set to "no" so I changed them to "yes" and then imported the catalog from the spreadsheet.

The shipping now works correctly.

*** always do a backup before using the import/export module ***

It deletes the catalog information before importing and in it's current version, if there is a problem with the data in the spreadsheet then your catalog will be restored only up to the position of the error. This is nasty in a live store and will be fixed in the next release of karzina.

If you are using the 1.04 release then you should also "close" your store during this process.
